Thinking of Joining?
What new cadets can expect – the early weeks
You can see the posts on our homepage for the places that Cadets have recently visited, and the opportunities that they have experienced.
The cadet experience is open to everyone, so whatever your nationality, background or ability, whether you’re male or female and if you’re between 12 and 17 years old you can join us.
Worried about fitting in? We’re a friendly Squadron, with lots going on so you will feel at home in no time. Equality is also central to the Air Cadets’ ethic.
So, are you ready to take the first step towards all the opportunities and benefits that 372 Squadron and the air cadets can offer you?
On arrival at 372 Squadron you will be firstly welcomed by a member of Staff. Then you will be shown around the Squadron headquarters by an experienced cadet to “show you the ropes”. The Cadet will tell you about the Squadron and the ATC in more detail; and will also tell you about their own experiences to date.
The first couple of weeks are spent covering the basics – drill, ATC, RAF etc. After 8 attendances, when you have decided that you like what you see, will be issued with your uniform (except for boots/ shoes) and your Record of Service Book (to record all your activities, experiences and achievements). At this point the opportunities of the Air Training Corps are there waiting for you.
